10 Pest Control Tips That Home Owners Should Heed

Tip 5: While keeping a light near the door and windows is the norm for security, try to keep them a little away from the opening and opt for halogen lights of yellow or orange colors to avoid flying insects. 

Tip 6: Look behind the kitchen cabinets, stove, and refrigerators and between the floors and wall juncture and around the pipes for holes and gaps that are visible from inside the house and close them. 

Tip 7: Floor drains and sinks can collect gunk and debris over time, which can provide the perfect breeding site for pests. Clean them regularly to avoid this, 

Tip 8: Unclean recycle bins are yet another breeding site for pests. Therefore, keep them clean and preferably keep them away from the house as much as possible. 

Tip 9: Keep pantry pests at bay by sealing leftovers in resealable bags or plastic containers. Alternatively, clean out stale or uneaten food first to avoid pest breeding. 

Tip 10: Lastly, keep the house clean. Regular cleaning and dusting can act as a deterrent to pests and insects and prevent their breeding.
