How Frequently Should You Clean Your Home?

Home cleaning has always been a polarising thing – some people like doing it while others don’t. That’s why not everyone can be on top of their home cleaning schedule, which is quite understandable considering there are a lot of things that you have to keep clean (even though everyone has different cleaning requirements).

However, we at professional house cleaners in Auckland, love to do our cleaning jobs and that’s why we also promote the essence of home cleaning among other people. Such is the reason why we have created this in-depth guide containing all the necessary pointers regarding how often you should be cleaning your home.

Knowing The Ideal Frequency Of Your Home Cleaning

  1. The Bedroom

Bedrooms have multiple layers of cleaning procedures that you have to follow. First, you have to start with the bedding. It’s recommended that you clean your bedsheets at least once a month. Moreover, you have to vacuum your mattress at least once per week, so that you can prevent any infestation of dust mites.

Once done, you have to wipe down the surfaces of all the furniture items present in your bedroom, including the bed. Additionally, you also have to vacuum the floors of your bedroom as well.

All of the above mentioned tasks should be carried out as frequently as you can so that you can maintain consistency in your cleaning schedule.

  1. The Kitchen

The kitchen acts as the heart of your house and it’s crucial to keep it clean at all times. We suggest cleaning all the kitchen surfaces at least once every two days.

Besides, you have to clean the insides of your fridge at least once every few months (maximum of three months). While you clean your fridge, you can also clean your oven/stove.

Apart from that, it’s recommended to clean your microwave oven at least once per week, whether you decide to use it or not. You can proceed to wipe down the exteriors & interiors once every week and perform a deep cleaning once per month.

An ideal way to clean the insides of your microwave oven is to keep a bowl containing water & white vinegar in a 1:1 ratio inside the microwave and let it heat until the mixture starts evaporating. At that moment, turn off the oven and allow it to sit for some time inside the microwave. Finally, wipe down the insides with a clean cloth.

  1. The Bathroom

The bathroom can prove to be the toughest area of your house to clean. It’s suggested that you clean your bathroom at least once per week.

The cleaning process should involve scrubbing the floors, wall surfaces and wiping down the cabinet surfaces. Pay attention to your bathtub and toilet as well.
