Nowadays, ladder-related injuries are widespread, and therefore you should be aware of the challenges beforehand.

Moreover, when you’re climbing a ladder, ensure that another family member is securing the base of the ladder; otherwise, you may topple down. Another thing that you should keep a note of is that – the ladder should be leaned against your home and not on the gutter itself. Since the sides of a gutter are slippery, the ladder can easily slip and fall down. 

Apart from that, you also need to be safe, especially when trying to over-reach when you’re on the ladder. While repositioning a ladder on the go can be difficult, but that doesn’t mean that you should continuously be over-reaching out of your comfort zone to clean your gutters.   • Not Wearing Protective Clothing

When you plan on climbing a ladder that’s so high, you need to ensure that you’re wearing the required safety clothing that will prevent you from slipping over. For example, the shoes that you’ll be wearing should have rubber soles and should be closed off. There’s no reason for you to use flip-flops or sandals for a task like this. 

Furthermore, you need to make sure that you obtain sufficient eye protection as well. Any flying debris or insects, if gets inside your eyes, can be highly dangerous. Lastly, you also need to obtain a protective headgear and gloves for your job. Headgear will provide you with extensive safety in case of any fall and gloves will ensure that your hands stay safe while you clean the gutters.
